    Most cleaners use …
Most cleaners use the swag method for pricing or they look at their competitors advertisement and price the same way? Not understanding that everyone has a different business model. Here is the way I have done it for the last 17 years (expenses+ profit) divided by hrs on machine( we avg 58 to 64hr per truck per month) = cost per hour (usually is $250 – $275/ hr) divide by square footage you can clean per hour residential 500Sqft this will give you your price per sqft, commercial 1000 to 1500

    between the wand …
between the wand and vac hose.you will be amazed how many rugs you pick up,but you have to be consistent and that is the problem, patience and consistency will make you lots of money,if you clean foreclosures you may be in the hood, but they are paying customers none the less.I ALWAYS do the demos on every job,I f you worked out here and couldn;t sell ….you would never make it.If I don’t make a $1000 per day I’m not doing my job,I have slow days but I am always stepping up my game.

    I operate out of …
I operate out of Dallas Tx. I was talking about cleaning wool area rugs, this makes up at least 25-35 percent of my profit, $1.50 per ft,2.00 when protected,Every customer usually has some nice rugs here in Dallas, there is serious money here and I do demos on every job,….easiest demo is on the rugs .Just take your white towell and take your hose off , let customer know ,if they have never had the rug cleaned they may be surorised,,,but I always say “it’s probably not that bad,” place the towel-

    again, where are …
again, where are you from california??? here i metro detroit, i clean 2 forclosures every week! most are holding back on carpet cleaning, i have to bid with the customers on flood jobs….i’ll go cheaper for cash, that is. its the way of the world(at least here…), dude, less money to go around. i’m getting out of here when i sell my house, its nuclear winter with the service industry in MI, used to be good a few years ago…..

  • thebrickinator says:

    do you live in …
do you live in england???? wool???? lets see…. According to the Carpet and Rug Institute in Georgia, approximately 97 percent of all carpet in North America is produced using synthetic fibers. shove that up yer arse. all syth for me, i don’t with wool garbage, next you will be ranting about jute backing. what planet are you from? the economy makes it so everyone gets the same treatment, high heat, and get the out forget the protector, most don’t want it.

  • tejasrojo11 says:

    Nothing lasts …
Nothing lasts forever but when applied correctly and groomed usually around 3-6 months, Do you understand that every carpet is different,,your just a punk kid who is spoon fed by his boss,c’mon man you haven’t given any info that shows me you know …………….anything except….”i made some money” so if you have some actual pro advice whats your opinion on protector,…you see it takes me 10 minutes to protect 1000 ft. at .20 cents per ft. thats money for little labor,so “GET REAL”

  • tejasrojo11 says:

    Sounsds like you …
Sounsds like you don’t really sale to often since your machine sales for you,but you could be making more if you would absorb my info.Yeah I steam clean,I just don’t have 1 procedure for every carpet,,,so go steam some wool and hope it doesn’t get ruined….you are gambling with your customers belongings and sir that is uneducated street carpet care, I think you work for someone and you just try to cut every corner,,you will never be a pro,and that is your fault. who do u work for??

  • thebrickinator says:

    Hi guys………. …
Hi guys………. lets face it……. looking at all the responses about how much you guys are charging and all the stuff ur saying…. sounds like NONE of you actually know how to clean a carpet PROPERLY….. The big question is.. what are YOU worth to your client. price is always based on the clients needs not what you think will work or not work. if you knew anything about carpet cleaning. soil is a 4 ph…… 9ph?? couldnt even clean dirt with that….. might as well use water lol

  • tejasrojo11 says:

    I could argue til …
I could argue til 2010 but I jusy don’t think you know your ,how the does water based always come off, water is just the delivery agent used to apply the protectant ,the water evaporates out and wallah!! carpet protected, which is wear dated.good job on the 850.thats good cash!! I just started doing hardwoods 2 months ago,it’s a harder sale but after you recoat it is around 250.00 per hour profit vs. 100.00 on carpets.good luck buddy do them demo’s.

  • tejasrojo11 says:

i love to blast the …
i love to blast the temp and steam but this business is about being versatile. you have t respect your customer in every way.If they have specific concerns do you just tell them “I just steam everything off the carpet so your screwed unless you buy protectant” I always sell protectant but I carry 2 varieties, dry soil and full stain protection. You sound very angry,I bet you get ed when they won’t buy your sales pitch ” I cant turn my steam down mam ” you sound like a in rookie,

  • tejasrojo11 says:

    No dinosaurs or …
No dinosaurs or portable,Iv;e been in the industry for 11 years,I was running an old school prochem 101 back in 99′, I have a bridepoint lancer,I mean how does your machine not go below 160.Mine goes to 125,thats if you clean anything except carpet;silks, antique wools, dude seriously-If you are truly knowledgeable and I’m sure you are! you would know ,if you have a true protected carpet you dont need “steam” and you dont risk the integrity of the carpet, you can depend on prespray and acid rinse

  • thebrickinator says:

    150 degrees? you …
150 degrees? you have got to be kidding! you couldn’t get a booger of the carpet! haha! my machine won’t go lower than 160. you must be using a portable or a dinosaur mount. it’s the losers like you that give steam cleaners a bad name, oh, yeah you don’t see steam at 150, you might as well dump a bucket of water on the floor, and shop vac it up, retard. oh by the way, i made $850 this weekend loser.

  • tejasrojo11 says:

    PPPPHHH……I knew …
PPPPHHH……I knew you were a serious rookie, like I said keep the temp. beloe 150,and mild pre-cond. nothing above 9 ph. Come on dude let’s use our brain “waterbased always comes off”- the water based just protects the actual stain protection under neath, you just clean apartments…I understand, You just sound like a go and blow, wet and jet, spray and pray!!!! I will smoke you on every level,I backup every job I do. You just talk alot of ,it’s obvious now. SMOOCHIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • thebrickinator says:

    2000 for protection …
2000 for protection? you can re-carpet the house for that price, you got ripped!!! what a bs lie, ha! if the protection is water based it always comes off douce bag!!! get a clue.

  • tejasrojo11 says:

I used to go in on …
I used to go in on 2 rooms and a hall for 29.95,customers never read the fine print right on the coupon,we were never aloud to clean for that price .I had a bridgepoint lancer truckmount. It was all about the money and selling the service by doing a demo with a ty portable(29.95) or truckmount,prespray(229.95) for the whole house ,any size,oh yeah the cops due make an appearance only when customers threatened me and I called them.

  • tejasrojo11 says:

    Yeah,but you do …
Yeah, but you do adjust the temp if the customer has stain protection and has new carpet? I had a large national company clean my carpet in Dallas and the tech swore the protection would remain after the cleaning but when water wouldn’t bead up as it once did,we had the carpet tested ,well the 2000.00 protection on my whole house was steamed off. We took them to court and the guy said he forgot to turn the temp. down and still kept his job, just a waste of everyones time, you are the same?

  • chiragvania123 says:
