What do the words around the knob on the right side of the Fisher Price Deluxe Take-Along Swing say?
I bought a Fisher Price Deluxe Take-Along Swing, made in 2001, at a yard sale and some of the words have rubbed off. On the right there's a knob. I need to know what the words around it are so I can operate it correctly.
Just an FYI for you. I had one of those swings – the exact same one – and my daughter fell out of it onto the floor. SHe was bickled in correctly and the strap was as tight as it could go. She was sitting in it all happy, amusing herself so I left the room for a couple minutes to go to the bathroom and on my way back to her I heard her starting to fuss. By the time I got to her she had straightened her legs out so she was in a standing position, which made the top of the swing part top heavy. She tumbled right out the back of the swing onto the floor. Fortunately the floor was carpeted so she wasn't injured but it scared the heck out of me and her! I called Fisher Price and everything. THe problem wiht the swing is that the safety belt is only a 3 point one instead of an over the shoulder 5 point one. If you have a strong baby (she was still 4 lbs under the weight limit) they can push up to a stand and tumble out the back of the swing. Now I try to worn everyone I know about it. There were recalls done on some of them too. It's too bad. I used to love that swing but after that incident there was no way I was putting her back in there! (Sorry, I don't know what it said on the knob but it makes sense that it would be the number settings for controlling the speed.)
I have the fisher price open top swing i don;t know if its the same but on mine the right side knob has numbers beside of it 5 4 3 2 1 for the speed settings!!
