Author: Im looking for a cheap effects pedal. I dont need all the tremelo and flange and wah-wah stuff. I just need something that will let me change it from acoustic to distortion. Thanks
i think one of the best pedals for the money is the Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive Pedal ($39 at musiciansfriend.com). It is a warmer and smoother distortion than the Boss DS-1 Distortion Pedal(also $39) which sounds a little more harsh on the high end but is also more crunchy. Both pedals are highly modifiable as well, and you can’t really go wrong with a $40 Boss Pedal…they are built quite well.
