I thinking about getting a tattoo but im not sure how much its going to cost. I live in Swindon in the UK we have quite a good tattoo parlour in the town centre which produces good quality tattoos.

Im thinking about getting 4 words down my fore arm, about an inch high (not too fancy lettering) and would like to know the rough price icon smile What is the rough price of a tattoo?

well how long is a piece of string……

we cant tell you as it depends on the script, how many words, how long it takes to do etc as the tattooist might work by the hour. Different places charge different amounts. Only you can find out – go in with your design and ask for a quote.

about £35-150, depending on how big the words are, and how much colour you intend to use

I had my two children’s names done with some artwork and it cost me $250 US. But tattoo’s vary in price, color etc. will cost you more.

Your best bet is to visit several shops and price around. It’d be even better if you brought a sketch of exactly what you want. Also, be sure to look through their sample book and decide whether the quality of their work is what you’re looking for. My advice is that you shop around for a shop that’s clean and has good artists. And don’t cheap out on what you want done. If you have to, save up for something you’ll be happy with.

They usually charge by the hour. So it depends on how complicated your tatoo will be. For what you’re planning I would think around $100-$150. You should make an appointment w/ the tattoo artist prior to getting the tattoo so he or she can go over everything with you.

Around £70-£80 but I’d personally save your money and buy something really fancy for your back which can be covered and no one knows until you want them to.
Experience gives me this opinion- If you’re not bothered about others or job prospects etc- then also consider making friends with the tattooist by spending a lot of money and they’ll do a better job!

Ask your artist mate best thing u can do is ask around, the one on my arm from some artists cost £120 but the one I went to said £60 including colouring. so ask around and get a quote your happy with after all only an artist can tell you for sure, the rest of us can only guess.

    Good luck mate

OK, so you know the studio you want to go to. Don’t you think that asking the tattooist there might actually get you a proper quote for cost rather than asking strangers on the internet? Just a thought…..

Go with Oldgrump’s answer. Ask at the tattoo parlour, even if you go in and the main artist is busy, there should be someone around who can tell you. And they are the only people who will know for sure what they charge. Most of these places I find are very friendly, and will gladly help you.
