Author: Operating systems aside I think Mac inferior due to the price and what is available in the market. I prefer Linux and think that Macs are a rippoff. Does anyone else see this fact?
Because people are gullible. They see commercials and immediately believe them. They are sucked in to the myth that macs are for "designers" and "cool kids" when really, they are paying for the name. They are all steve jobs drones. And yes I definitely see how they are a ripoff. I built my PC for under 900 dollars and it will blow ANY mac out of the water. Except maybe the 8-core but that thing costs like 4000$ so you get my point.

Yes but apparently a lot of people dont know any better. The ONLY thing Apple is good at is conniving the public with their misleading commercials.

I totally agree… Mac has overpriced hardware. However, Apple excels in innovative design and exceptional costumer service, which is why people are willing to pay so much. I’m tempted myself just to get an iPhone. BTW Mac OS is based on Linux… I still wouldn’t get one though. :p

Everyone except MAC diehards see this. I agree with you btw. PC all the way. Not smart enough or patient enough for linux. Anyways MACs are charged a premium for guaranteed driver compatibility, a virus free environment, a crashless environment, and some other mumbo jumbo that can be accomplished on PC or Linux based systems for half the cost. My Win OSs have not blue screened in five years and thats only because I can only remember five years back with certainty. I think i’ve bsod’d 6 times in my 25 years of computer use.

yeah. what i have been doing teh past 4 years is buying a cheap laptop with windows on it and installing either linuxmint or opensuse on it. MACOSX is a ripoff. why pay 1500 for a laptop u get
Mac is just a stripped down Unix system while linux is a full blown unix-like system. U can do much more with linux. especially if you master the terminal. Endless customizations and configurations with linux. FREEDOM is what makes linux superior to anything else.
for 400$ off dell? I have been using linux for 4 years and I LOVE IT. everything works like a charm and teh new ubuntu 9.10 and linuxmint 8 support broadcom wireless drivers out of teh box. IM HOOKED now.
