Oh wait…that goof is me!

There seems to be some lack of understanding of the rules of the speed round. If you guess a letter correctly you have 5 seconds to solve it, meaning that you can spout out as many guesses as you want in those 5 seconds. That’s why I was able to make multiple guesses. I hope that clears things up.

Anyway, ratings soared so high after this moment, that CBS was able to buy a new letterboard for Vanna to just touch the letters. That’s what happens when you have a stud like me on the show. Just kidding.

    Card counting …
Card counting requires knowledge of the deck. Which is why casinos now use a new deck every deal to avoid card counting. Try nad research before talking silly.
Also you ignored my actual point which is that wisdom is common sense, while intelligence is accumulated knowlege. I already stated it was process of elimination as there are really only 4 common answers that fit into that catergory. And experts? You mean your imaginary team of experts from 15 years ago that are now out of date?

    Websters will NEVER …
Websters will NEVER give a better definition than a group of experts on the subject…that is just dumb. The card counting example is used for a single hand, not an all around result. Even with counting cards he obviously wouldn’t win every hand (luck is involved). This guy had the same information as everybody else, so imagine that everyone is counting cards too, and that’s the example. It was common sense mixed with luck. You called me wrong. You turned out to be wrong. Get over it.

    Blades, Flakes, …
Blades, Flakes, Cloves, Gloves, Cliffs (Which is more of a place) Glyphs (Which is less of a thing and a vary obscure word to be used)

That’s pretty much the only things that come to my head without having to think deeply on it.
If he had randomly guessed, yes it would be luck, but seeing as he guessed with three very good clues (Second letter L, Things, and S meaning it is most likely plural) his chances skyrocketed. I would give him pure luck if the L wasn’t there.

    Webster trumps 52 ” …
Webster trumps 52 “Intelligent researchers” from 1994 as the meaning of words alter and change over time.

And card counting? You mean the man who made millions upon millions and forced Casinos to make new rules using his card counting that made him lose only the first few bets and win almost all of his bets after those?
Yes, theres no wisdom put to use there to use the logic you learned and put it into effect to successfully count cards to vastly increase chances of winning.[/endsarcasm]

    There are hundreds …
There are hundreds of words with that configuration…the fact that one of his guesses was right doesn’t make him a wise man. Your views are similar to a gambler counting cards at a black jack table. Using information from past experience to make predictions (with better odds than this no less). Does the fact that he’s been counting cards guarantee a black jack? No…there is still luck involved. A wise decision is never based on chance.

  • shortymcshrimp28 says:

    Your dictionary …
Your dictionary wasn’t written by an expert on the subject. The definition of intelligence as signed by 52 intelligence researchers in 1994: “general mental capability that, among other things, involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly and learn from experience”. This is exactly what i have said. Wisdom: “Scholarly knowledge, or learning”. In other words what you learn in school. It’s also defined as worldly understanding.

  • WhiteTiger225 says:

    And here comes the …
And here comes the insults, leading to you helpfully strengthening my case.
    1. The ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight. – Wisdom
    1. a. The capacity to acquire and apply knowledge. – Intelligence.

in this case he used wisdom to discern which words he knew thanks to his Intelligence that fall under things that are 6 letters, have the second letter as L, and the last letter as S, and is an object.

Care to argue with the dictionary? :D Be my guest!

  • shortymcshrimp28 says:

    Process of …
Process of elimination is wisdom? lol…you’re an idiot. It’s been proven that I.Q. tests don’t correspond to good grades, simply because school is based on memorization (like i said), and it also factors in effort. I.Q. tests measure your INTELLIGENCE quotient, and yes they do work. There has never been an intelligent person with a low I.Q….that wouldn’t make any sense, considering I.Q. tests are the only measure of intelligence. Stop making stuff up to back your argument.

  • WhiteTiger225 says:

    Process of …
Process of elimination is wisdom silly one. And IQ tests mean nothing, it has been proven. Some of the wisest and most intelligent people in history have had low IQ scores because IQ tests just cannot work. You cannot measure theoretical knowledge.

  • shortymcshrimp28 says:

    Intelligence is NOT …
Intelligence is NOT accumulated knowledge. Your I.Q. stays the same your entire life, so the accumulating memorized knowledge being fed to you your entire life has nothing to do with it. But this was not wisdom…this was random guessing. He could have just as easily been wrong. Making it luck.
